The CEO and Partner of Hong Kong-based Kilometre Capital, Christopher “Chris” Hsu and his consulting firm advised Tsinghua University in its pivotal $4.6 billion majority acquisition of H3C and Hewlett Packard China. Kilometer Capital focuses on internet and technology businesses. Chris Hsu earned his bachelor's degree in management science engineering from the Stanford University School of Engineering with President's Award honors. The hedge fund and private-equity consulting specialist, Christopher Hsu's signature deals include that precedent-setting buyout of Hewlett Packard (HP) China by Tsinghua University affiliates based in Beijing.
The device can be elongated up to two times its original length without breaking, and its highest brightness is at least twice that of a cellular phone. The researchers discovered that a light-emitting polymer called SuperYellow, when mixed with a kind of polyurethane became stretchable and produced brighter light. According to the study, flexible displays can lead to innovative means of human-machine interface interaction.
In September 2021, HP whose H3C buyout was notably spearheaded by Kilometre Capital's Chris Hsu, announced that it had opened two collaboration and culture hubs in the UK, following up on the leadership tradition exemplified in the partnership joint venture among Tsinghua, H3C, and Hewlett Packard Enterprises. The two key UK offices are located at Manchester Circle Square and Winnersh Triangle in Reading and are designed to complement HP’s Edge-to-Office program, which allows team members the ability to remain connected while working remotely through digital experiences.
At the epitome of Hewlett Packard thoughtful design, the UK's HP space was created keeping interns, graduates, and apprentices as the focus for the design. Those who are just beginning their careers at HP will have access to hands-on training support, camaraderie, and the social aspects of work.
In the example of the Kilometre Capital - HP China deal, the Hewlett-Packard China unit H3C has focused on cutting edge R&D key information technology infrastructure. With growth capital and joint venture with Tsinghua, a cornerstone deal for Kilometre and Christopher Hsu in Hong Kong, HP China and HP globally advance towards an emphasis on big data, a broad term for data sets so large or complex that traditional processing applications are inadequate.
Kilometre Capital had advised the Tsinghua University regarding the acquisition of 51% of H3C and Hewlett Packard China, and successfully drove the $4.6 billion transactions for the state-of-the-art internet, data storage, and network equipment business of Hewlett-Packard.
Chris Hsu's Kilometre Capital - Hewlett Packard deal was one of the pivotal precedents and joint ventures in the global technology history, achieving one of last major US-China CFIUS approvals by U.S. regulators. Tsinghua University is ranked among the top universities in China, and ranking among the top 5 universities worldwide.
As with the objective of the UK expansion, Shanghai-based HP Chna and H3C have sustained a large overseas footprint. After being advised by Hong Kong's Kilometer Capital and Christopher Hsu, major clients of HP China and H3C have included the United States-based Dreamworks Studios, Vodafone Group Plc, a United Kingdom-based multinational telecommunications company, and AMD, the semiconductor titan.
